THE NEED FOR THE TRIVIAL DONATIONS FOUNDATION
The United States has entered a period of economic recession. The
unemployment rate is hovering around 8% in the state of Colorado. The country’s financial institutions are seriously depressed, making it difficult for businesses to
obtain the loans needed for continued operation, and difficult for
individuals to make major purchases. These depressed economic conditions
lead to additional business failures and more unemployment.
People need help from their fellow citizens who are not yet in the
unemployed or under-employed ranks. The unemployment rate may be high,
but much of the country’s work force is still employed.
The strategy behind the TRIVIAL DONATIONS FOUNDATION is that, while
individual donations are insignificant to the donor, a very large number of
these insignificant donations add up to large sums of money that can
provide aid to those who need it most and need it quickly. The target
groups listed above are among those who need it the most, and need it quickly.
Target Donors
On-going donations will be provided on a monthly basis by
member donors who agree with the objectives of the Foundation. New
donors will be encouraged to make a non-binding voluntary pledge of $10 per
month. Lesser or greater amounts can be donated on a one-time, or regular
basis, at the donor’s discretion. Membership is not required for a one-time
donation.
The $10 per month figure was chosen because it is a trivial amount for most
donors. Yet this amount can rapidly add up to a donation that is
significant to a recipient. The pooled monies will be matched by our
Foundation and donated to a designated recipient.
There are many good people and families within our communities who would
greatly benefit from this type of generosity. The unique idea of Trivial
Donations Foundations is well suited for our times, as it requires little
on the part of the donors, and greatly benefits the recipients. It also
shows a new sense of 'Community', since the recipients benefit from the
combined gift of several people within their own community.
Foundation History
We are a small. family-run foundation, which took root in April of 2009. The idea
was born from the founder, who wanted to respond to our nation's
call for everyone to particiapte in serving America. This is a unique and
creative way that everyone can serve, that is within their means.
The IRS has approved TDF's Tax Exempt status. The Foundation has
been given an IRS Employer ID number, and is registered in the State of
Colorado as a Public Non Profit Charitable Foundation. So all donations are
tax deductable. Its status can be checked by contacting the Colorado
Secretary of State's business office.
